Macbook Pro or MSI for UE4?

Which ones you guys recommend to be able to run UE4, 3Ds, Maya, smoothly even when doing heavy duty rendering.

Thanks!

This is a can of worms question waiting for a flame war. anything that is an “answer” to this question will be 90% opinion. that said here is mine. mac tends to be a bit more stable than pc (less you can do, less to mess up on the mac) you do tend to pay for that though a hardware equivalent $2000 mac could be built for about $900 as a pc. but if you mess up the pc your totally on your own. you mess up your mac apple care will help you out (assuming its the computer that’s messing up not maya ue4 etc.) now past that part we got the whole notebook tower issue. this software is not friendly on resources period. you can get away with running all of this software on a top end notebook/laptop for now, as long as its still top end. a year down the road don’t count on it and depending how complex the maps etc. you are building. it would be way cheaper and customizable to use a tower. I imagine most ppl use this software with (at least) 2 monitors (im currently using 4) this is a big limitation with portable computers so look in to that most will support 2 but that’s usually the limit. with that all said. Either is fine its not about brand they are both running intel or amd CPU’s and ATI or Nvidia GPU and functionable OS’s just depends on your needs/budget.

As a side note a few points has to go to switching OS’s if your not familiar with one or the other there is a slight learning curve on the one your not used to.

Thank you for your response. I am considering getting a Macbook Pro for my portable needs, and then slowly build a powerful Tower manually. Like you said, Windows laptops tend to slow down down the road.

Solid option just bear in mind much software is not cross compatible i.e. you may have to buy Photoshop for both Mac and pc this route. Something to keep in mind.
