Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

[4.7.4] Default Value of Details panel not updating in Blueprint

When the My Blueprint tab of the Blueprint editor is in focus and a Variable is highlighted, navigating the Variable list using arrow keys on the keyboard causes the Default Value panel on the Details tab to not update, so it continues to show the default value of the initially selected variable (the Variable panel of the Details tab updates as expected).

As opposed to selecting variables from the My Blueprint tab by clicking on them with the mouse. This causes everything in the Details tab to update as expected.

Hey Ben,

Would you be able to upload a short clip of this bug? The reason I'm asking is because I believe I'm following your steps correctly however, my variables are updating properly within the details tab.

Sure thing, Samantha.

You can see here that the Default Value panel is always for the PhysicsHandleActive boolean when I navigate the variable list with the arrow keys, but when I navigate with mouse clicks, it shows the correct variable's default.

I guess I should mention that I'm developing with the OSX version of the editor and haven't bothered to test cross-platform, but this doesn't seem like the sort of thing that would be OS dependent.

Hey Ben,

Thank you so much for uploading this clip. I was overlooking the proper panel. This issue has been reported and hopefully it'll be implemented soon however, there isn't an ETA at this time. However, if you need to reference this report in the future, please refer to: UE-11203
