How to export a camera view via the create a movie button in matinee? It only renders my first player start!

When I try to make a video in Matinee, It only renders my player start and not the animation I did with my camera…I cant seem to find the problem.

Hi Cedric,

Do you have your camera actor attached to a Director Track in your Matinee editor? You will need to Right-click and add a Director track, then put a keyframe in it to attach the camera. Please let me know if that helps.

Cheers!

Wow! Amazing! 7 minutes for an answer!!! I forgot to mention that I already had the Director track but no keyframe! It solved it! Finaly!!! Thx!

Its actualy More than that!!! Finally found it!!! You gotta click on the Matinee sequence and click the Play on level Load option on the detail panel!!! Otherwise you get stuck in first person at launch!!!

Can you please explain in detail how I can record a movie from an existing matinee?
I tried to render the Reflections_Matinee into a movie, but after clicking start it renders frames nonstop. But to what location? Also the mouse movement changes the camera, which is not what I expect. I cant find “Play on level load”.

Eveything is normal.Just close the window when you want the movie to end… and post prod in after effects. The file location should be something like: C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Unreal Projects\Reflections\Saved\VideoCaptures. The play on level option is when you clic the camera associated with the little ‘‘clap’’ on the right, on the detail panel.

Cedric, thank you for your answer. Im too stupid to find that “Play on level Load option”. Searched for 20 minutes, gave up.

Opne the scene. Clic on the Matinee logo on the upper panel and choose: refecltion_matinee. In the matinee window click on movie (upper right on top panel). Choose .AVI and resolution. A new window should pop up. Let the animation end and close the window. Go grab your video file to: C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Unreal Projects\Reflections\Saved\VideoCaptures.

The file is set up as if there was an intro video before getting in 1st person or whatever. BUT it also plays in loop…so you will never get in 1st person. To avoid this and film your movements… you gotta clic on refection_matinee (director clap logo) in the scene outliner (right panel) and delete it…you will then be able to film yourself playing.

I got it working in addition to the steps above I had to delete my director track and create a new one.
