Is there a way to export landscape in ue4 scene to maya?

Im not sure where i heard it, but i believe it is possible to export landscape as an fbx into maya or 3ds max and then re import it back into ue4…

Hey ,

Currently there is no way to export a landscape created in UE4 to an .FBX file. You can save a heightmap and use that externally as suggested here:

Hope that helps!

Right now, you can export a landscape selecting it and choosing File->Export Selected.
It will be exported as an obj file.

There is only a little problem: you’ll have all components separated as single objects. You should merge them and weld vertex.

, may I ask you if there is something ongoin to improve landscape management of heights?

Peace,
Budello

Hey Budello,

I know that we have slowly snuck some updates into editor, but I don’t believe there is a specific plan for improving heightmap management. We try to track what we’re planning to work on here:

but landscape doesn’t appear to be on that list at moment. If you feel this should be a higher priority for development team, please post in feedback section of forums, perhaps with a poll for other users to add their votes to:
