[4.7.5] package size of empty scene bigger than 400m

Hi guys,

i package an empty blueprint third person template project(with no starter content) to win64 package, the package size is 425MB in default settings, and 399MB without prerequesities(project settings >> packaging >> packaging)

disable use pak file, and i found that the umap cost 221MB.

oh… if i create a new level and delete the default map. get a package with 155MB size. the map file just 0.9MB.

BTW, the engine directory has 151MB, It was much bigger than unity packages.

create a third person template project and just package it, get a 400MB package, THIS IS THE PROBLEM.

151MB is not a small size for an empty project, too.

Please see this other thread for some tips on how to reduce package size.

Pure DENIAL ! An empty project is always 153mb (with nothing inside!). And one year later, no answer at all, no tutorial, just links to other thread, where you can find zero solution… Ah yes, there is the mystical “blacklist.txt” solution, wich doesnt work (the empty project remains 153mb), wich you must be a soothsayer to use, because you cant find any tutorial…
