Project cannot be created, illegalCharacterName error

Hi Lumina,

Can you click on the button in the bottom right just above Create Project, and paste the full path for the project? I wonder if the install directory itself is somehow contributing to the issue.

Cheers,
Michael Noland

When I attempt to create a project, providing a name, even a letter in the space provided, immediately shows a syntax error, saying there is an illegal character in the name. This leaves the project creation button grayed out, and this applies to all of the options available, from blank to topdown. I have run this on the compiled source, and the error remains. This leads to believe it might be something on my end, causing this strange disturbance, because I haven’t found a similar error. My VS folder is in the right place, I made sure of that, and I reinstalled everything from scratch to make sure it wasn’t VS. I provided an image.

Here it is.

Hi Lumina,

With the expanded dialog, can you try changing the path in the Folder to a path outside of your Users directory? I suspect that the @ in your Windows username is causing the problem. That should work to unblock you and I’ll throw in a TTP on Monday for the issue (not sure how easy it would be to fix, but at the very least we can have a much more descriptive message there).

Cheers,
Michael Noland
