[Bug 4.7.5] Editor freeze on reroute cycle

It turns out that just creating a cycle is NOT enough. I cannot reproduce the freeze anymore (even though I could in the original setup).
About the freeze:

  • involved were collapsed nodes, macros, a lot of rerouting
  • it happened after dragging the already connected execution wire to a reroute
  • the execution wire originated on a reroute node
  • the two reroute nodes created a cycle

I hope someone can post more information. Freezing is the worst kind of bug, I waited 30ish minutes before closing.

Hi ,

Can you reproduce this in a blank project with no additional content? Are you using the Github branch or the launcher version of the engine?

I am not able to reproduce this anymore. Not even in my original project. But at the time I submitted this, it happened twice in a row.

I happened to play around with collapsed nodes and macros (might be a problem with tunneling?). I am not sure what exactly connected beforehand, only that a white execution line was dragged before the freezing and it built a cycle.

I am happy to hear it is no longer occurring for now. I will leave this question open for a few days just in case it occurs again. If it does, please post the following:

What type of blueprint were you working on?
What nodes were you changing/adding?
Did this occur during compile or while working on the event graph?
Is this blueprint referencing another blueprint, widget, interface, or function library?

Thank you!
