Can't check "uses distortion" in material editor

I’m trying to create a water material, but I can’t check “uses distortion” under the “usage” header in the material details. It doesn’t appear to be greyed out - I just click it and the check mark never appears. It does proceed to act like I changed something (ie, compiling shaders), but I simply can’t get it to check that option. Engine version is 4.7.5.

The Usage Flags should automatically set themselves with the Distortion Flag being set when you apply a Refraction element to your Material.

This had me thrown for a while, too; it would be great if someone could add a footnote to the tutorial at some point. Thanks for your accurate response.
