Importing .umap and assets

Hello, I am fairly new to this software, I was working on a computer and I had created my level and placed all the assets, I could no longer work on that computer so I copied the .umap and all the assets and put them on my hard drive. When I open the .umap there all the outlines of where the assets are is there, however the assets are not there, I thought this might happen, I have the assets on the computer I am now using, is there any way to make the software detect the assets on my pc or allow me to browse and select them so the assets are actually in the game again and not just the outlines?

To prevent such issues with dependencies you need to Migrate the assets(or the level) into the other project’s Content folder, or;

  • Create a folder named Content in your hard drive
  • Select the map in your content browser > right click > Asset Actions > Migrate
  • Show that folder you created as destination.
  • Bring that Content folder into the other computer and paste whatever is in it into the new project’s content folder.

What do I do if I have saved the assets and .umap online rather than through a harddrive? I am unable to transfer them via a hardrive, my only option is to do it through icloud,

You’ll do the same. Migrate the assets into a folder named Content, upload that folder to your account then download and place the folder into the other project’s content folder.
