What is the best free 3d modeling program to use with Unreal Engine 4?

3ds and maya are $3600. As well as cinema4d studio. Is there a free program for 3d modeling that works with Unreal Engine 4?

+1 For blender. Older versions were practically garbage compared to 3ds and Maya, but I’ve seen some impressive stuff come out of it after they redid the interface.

And yes it works with UE4.

Blender is free and is widely thought of the best program to get into 3D due to it’s accessibility.

Hello,

I am an “Indy Workflow” tester here at Epic, as well as support, and I use Blender for UE4 all the time. It does have a rotation problem with skeletons that we are working on, but I have gotten skeletons, animations and meshes from Blender into UE4 just fine. I recommend it if you want a free modeling program.

yeah blender is best for linux
