Does an actor needs to have physics enabled for generatig hit events?

I have two actors (a spaceship and a wall), both of them have collision enabled and are generatig hit events, but when i make the spaceship touch the wall, no hit event generates.

On the other hand, if i set both to generate overlap events, when i make the spaceship overlap the wall, the event fires correctly :S.

Both have the “Simulate physics” checkbox unchecked.
