Does anybody know how to get lighting and overall quality like the archvizist KOOLA ? I’m overwhelmingly stressed I can’t get the same quality or lighting… my scenes look more PS2 quality walkthrough… can anyone help… his lightmas.ini file settings change had little to affect

Hi Mshep3D,

A lot of the settings being adjusted by Koola are able to be edited in the World Settings > Lightmass > Lightmass Settings without the need to edit the .ini file.

A question like this is not a simple answer and would likely be better as a discussion on our Forums. We do have the ArchViz forums section where a lot of lighting issues are discussed which you can start a thread here: https://forums.unrealengine.com/forumdisplay.php?63-Architectural-Visualization

Some simple things that could help though with getting better lighting results:

  • UV Layout of our Lightmap (2nd UV with no overlapping faces)
  • Lightmap Resolution
  • Building lighting in Production Quality
  • Increasing the number of indirect lighting bounces. Koola uses 100. This is a simple example setup on our Wiki.

There is a lot of things that can affect how lighting works in the scene and our wiki guide has some of this for troubleshooting and tips. The areas listed above would be a good place to start though. Lighting is its own art form and it can take a bit to get comfortable with it to get the best results.

Luckily there is an awesome community and staff here that are willing to help.
