Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Swinging theory

How would we go about enabling a player character swinging back and forth from a stationary object, akin to a gymnast swinging from the high-bar?

Ideally we would like to use ragdoll physics on our character, but all attempts at this so far have been an epic fail. We have looked at Swingninja but it didn't really help us.

We have tried spawning Physics Constraint Actors, connected to one of our characters bones and the object we hit with a line trace but it is insanely buggy. General theory that covers every aspect of swinging is what we are looking for.

Did you ever figure out a way of going about this? I'm trying to attempt something similar in my project but can't get the natural weight of motion in the swing and have the player control it.

instead of ragdolling all of the characters bones, which can look buggy, maybe you could attach the character to a simpler chain of bones, with Ik targets. alt text
