I can’t get UE (latest) to work anymore, UE Editor immediatly crashes as soon as I simulate even an empty project. I created a new empty project (Blueprint) and it crashes immediately and always when I stop a simulation. Only content is basic floor and skydome etc.Simulation itself works fine. Latest Macbook pro with Nvidia.
From Crash log:
OS version 10.10.3.53558
Running 4 x64 processors
Exception was “SIGSEGV: invalid attempt to access memory at address 0x3”
Already checked other answers but they didn’t really apply. Is there an issue with recent Macbook Pros? Because it is second time that I have such a serious issue.
I just found out that when I disable automatic graphics change in Energy settings, it doesn’t occur anymore. Hope that this is fix. Obviously editor doesn’t like change from one to other graphics mode / card. Understandable but maybe you can look into this or note it as known issue.
When it crashes, please copy information from Crash Reporter window and post it here. If you could also and attach log from your project next time this happens, that would also be helpful. You can find logs in Library, which is hidden on OSX by default. To access it, open a Finder window and open Go menu, then hold down Option key and select Library when it appears. logs can then be found here:
I’m going to wake up this threat, as I have same problem. Both when leaving simulation mode and when closing a project. I have a Macbook Pro as well also with Nvidia graphics card, but mine is from fall 2012. So it probably has something to do with graphics change. I have attached crash report and log. I hope you’re able to fix it.
I have used information you have submitted to enter following bug report [UE-25378]. If we are able to isolate and fix this bug, we will notify you with an update to this post.
After examining this bug, it has been determined that “this is a low-level driver issue with Mac API that was resolved with [a] Mac driver update” for user who first reported this issue. That said, we’d like to know what OS you are running as well as what version of engine you are using. -Thanks.
