Texture/Material Alpha

I’m sorry, I’m sure this is a noobist question but I have an image of eyes

And my model has the proper UV map set out so that the base of the eyeball uses, well the eyeballs. The small dot that you see in the bottom right corner is actually an alpha channel (not white like it appears from the background showing through.) The way the eye was modeled from Make Human, the eye has an outer shell much like the human eye has. This outer shell is set to use the alpha channel in the bottom right corner of this texture. I can’t figure out how for the life of me, I get the material setup so that the alpha for the outer shell will work. I’ve tried putting the alpha channel from the texture into the material opacity mask but this makes the white areas, including the non-alpha sections, transparent/translucent.

Any help you can give me on how to set this up, it would be greatly appreciated. I also have similar textures for eyebrows and eyelashes so this technique will need to be used multiple times on my character.

Thank you!

You need to give the outer shell a different material ID so that you can use a translucent material for it while you use an opaque/SSS material for the eye itself.

may I use this for my game A.P.I. Entities? if so please email me at xmisterwafflex@gmail.com thank you!
