Macbook Pro 2015

Hello, I wanted to ask you if its possible to run Unreal Engine and develop games on newest Macbook Pro 2015. The specs are:

Intel Core i5 2.7GHz Broadwell,
13.3" IPS LED 2560x1600 Retina,
RAM 8GB,
Intel Iris Graphics 6100,
SSD 256GB.

Yes, I know this is iGPU but I heard its really powerfull.

Thank you so much.

You’ll have a hard time- any laptops just go to maximum load as soon as UE4 starts- the heaviest fan setting possible. You’ll be able to use it at a very limited level, but you’ll need a proper desktop setup to use it comfortably. I made the switch from a Mac Pro with very good specs (64 GB RAM, 3.5 GHz 6 core i7- still sluggish and slow performance) to a PC desktop with slightly worse specs but a GTX 980, and the difference was amazing- everything was so responsive, crashes were rare, and my experience using UE4 was drastically improved. UE4 is a powerhouse, and rightfully so- the excellent rendering power and state of the art features makes it reasonable to expect a big performance hit! I chose UE4 over other engines for this very reason- it isn’t trying to scale down everything, but gives you as much power as you’ll need!
