[4.7.6] Can't drag and drop materials into material or material function

Whenever I drag materials from my content browser to a material or material function they do not appear within the material editor.

I do see the ‘grabby hand’ icon and an icon with the number of materials I am dragging over right before dropping, but nothing happens.

Steps taken:
1 - Fresh blank project…

2 - Create a landscape map.

3 - Do various sculpting - nothing special.

4 - Import PNG files as texture. Create materials out of textures.

5 - Create Material.

6 - Highlight 3 materials from content browser, hold mouse 1(left button), drag to material editor window, release mouse1.

Nothing happens.

Resolved. I was dragging materials into the material editor when I should of been dragging the textures into the material editor.
