When will the market place be accepting submissions with C++ Plugins?

My Friend and I are developing a plugin for for the market place. We hit a road block when we realized that we need to use C++ Plugins in order to get it working. (Blueprints isn’t cutting it.) We were wondering if there was a time frame for when the market place was going to accept C++ plugins? Right now we are stuck with a half finished project.

You are not alone with this. I had so many ideas, but blueprints are not ideal for everything. I would say finish the product. If its good enough you can sell it without the market place.

there was some news on this last week on the stream saying that they plan to include it in an update of the marketplace soon. alluding to the next few updates and that code plugins aren’t as they once were.

here is another question asking for the same.

I don’t want to speak for EPIC, but my guess (because it’s what I would do) is that they are “forcing” the marketplace to use Blueprints because that’s their new baby and it’s one way of making sure Blueprints can do everything they want them to. I’d imagine once Blueprint functionality == C++ functionality (or close) they’d consider opening the marketplace to everyone – UNLESS the idea behind having a Blueprint marketplace is to insure the buyer has full source code…

Hey guys,

We’re in the early stages, but we are taking a list of companies and developers we’d like to work with. We’re still working out our requirements, but currently we have the following fairly set:

We require integration source.

We require a signed seller agreement, and any amendments needed for special cases.

Plugin must be 4.8 compatible.

Provider must be willing to update with each engine updates.

If you have plugins that meet these criteria and are ready to submit for plugin approval, please use our submission form found here:

https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/submissions

We don’t actually require the files until we accept any submissions, so please be as descriptive as possible, including links to any explanatory videos you may have.

Thanks!

Reuben

That link doesn’t work any more…
Also, the link that “does” work (found through Google) is broken at the first step. You can’t get past “create your seller account”…

The link provided above, gives me a html 404 error, but if you go to the Launcher, Click on Marketplace, then click on Submit Content at the top, that did indeed allow me to create an account, and then allow for submission as well.

Strange. I am still stuck on the “create account”…

Hey guys,

Reason why the link is no longer working is the unrealengine webpage has been updated as of November. My apologizes, the link provided in my previous response in June is no longer in service. You may send your submission over at Publisher Portal from now on.

As for your issues with “create account” can you explain in for details on where you are experiencing this issue, any technical error codes you see, or screenshots where you are stuck at? Anymore details you can provide, I can look into this further for ya.

Thank you,

Reuben

Hi ,

Strangely, my account is working now. Before, even though I logged in, it would take me to the “create account” page, and after entering details, it would say “Account already exists”. I couldn’t get past “Create Account” no matter what info I entered.

When I logged in today, It seems to have recognized my account. I can now see a page for payment info, and the “Submit to marketplace” button.

Excellent! If you run into anything strange -like before- ever again, please send a screenshot with your reply with any error messages you receive on the Marketplace website or seller’s portal. I will send it straight over to our web team to look into.

Actually, I did search for a way to report the bug, but couldn’t find an e-mail to do so on the Marketplace website. Would you mind pointing me to the link?

Best point of contact with bug reports with the Unreal Engine webpage is on our forums in the “Feedback for Epic” section.

You can also link the report to a thread in the “Bug Report” section of answerhub. From there, the issue will be directed to our web team to look into.

Is there any new information concerning submitting to the marketplace, with a C++ plugin, and blueprints?
