Launch crash reporter

Last week I was able to use the unreal engine. After a few tutorials it crashed. I tried launching and got the crash reporter. I tried the verify in the launcher and that failed, installation corrupt. I tried uninstalling and re-installing, restarting and everything I could think of. After a few failed attempts at installing I not get the crash reporter every time at 80%.

I ran DxDiag [DxDiag][2] And the debugger in the launcher [Debug][3]

Make sure you submit that crash report info and also copy/paste the callstack here. I will need to copy bits of it in order to find it on the crash reporter site.

Is the editor crashing when you try to open a specific project or does the editor crash just after you hit the ‘Launch’ button in the launcher.

either when I hit launch or open a project it crashes.

So, something happened to my computer and I had to re-install everything. I installed the launcher and when I install the engine it says it fails. After a few times I think to check the file location. Yep, there it is. I run it with out the launcher and it works. I am going to try and resume the installation from the launcher now that I have it working without, but i am not holding my breath.

One issue is that in the launcher I am trying to download the Content examples but since I don’t have the engine installed through the launcher, is won’t download, or if it does it does not show up anywhere.

Now that you have the engine installed but it isn’t showing in the Launcher, take a look at the excepted answer in this post. It describes how to move the engine into a location so that the Launcher will recognize it.

After having run the engine without the launcher the install went fine. Things are running good now.
