Building lighting crashes compute!

Hello, so I recently got unreal engine 4 to make my own house in it. I decided to download Xoio Berlin Flat example project so I can see how to do it and use some furniture and other models (this is a school project). When I open the map for the example project and try to build the lighting it says Building Lighting 0% and my PC completely melts down to the point I cant even see my mouse moving, and so I have to manually turn off my PC by holding power button. My PC is very new, it has a I7-4790k, GTX 750ti Superclocked, and 8gb ram. I am also running the newest Graphics drivers.

It is good to note that I have tried building lighting in some Unreal template projects and this works.

Hi ICallHax -

Building Lighting uses a significant amount of RAM, and while you do have 8GB which should be significant, the Berlin Flat as an Architectual Visualiztion uses significantly higher Lightmap Resolutions for its assets than are typical with most static mesh assets and requires that much more RAM to build lighting. I would look at the assets that you are using and look at the lightmass resolutions and try decreasing them to a lower power of two texture size. For Example a wall piece may be only at most 256 while a vase or a picture frame would be 16 to 32. You might need to adjust the Lightmap UV unwrap to match these new settings.

Let me know if after you make these adjustments you are still experiencing the freeze.

Thank You
