Engine Crash on loading Project

I recently made a change to one of the blueprints on my project meaning that when an AI character got within a certain distance of my player character the player would turn to look at the AI actor. My game was working perfectly fine up until this point but once I made this change, I tried playing in editor and the engine crashed. I tried to reopen the project but now everytime I try to open the project the engine crashes with this error:

I have tried using backups of the main character uasset from the backups folder and have tried cloning the project to see if that helped (nope). I can’t access the project to try and migrate any of the assets across to a new project. Please help me get my project back?!

Hi Andraktor,

Remove your blueprint folder from your projects contents filepath then open the project. Once opened, immediately change the game mode and player pawn to none. Once you’ve done this, try to put the blueprints folder back into the project and edit your blueprints. It looks like you have an invalid or improper cast between your ai and your player at some point. Make sure that any time you are using one of the two to directly affect the other you are properly casting or using interfaces to get access to that information.
