How to render a scene

Hi,

I’ve never rendered before in Unreal Engine 4 and need some help. I’m simply trying to render out an Arch viz scene. Is anyone able to post a step by step guide?

Thanks
El

Hi El,

Are you just wanting to render out a screenshot or are you wanting to setup a camera animation that moves through your project that can be rendered out to a movie?

Thanks!

Tim

Hi Tim,

I’m simply trying to render out a screenshot.

In that case this should help you get started with that.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding this and I can help out where needed.

Thank you for this! May be a silly question but could you explain what screenshot size multiplier does? As in, does this affect screenshot resolution the higher the bar? What’s the ideal number for this?

The multiplier will increase the size of the screen shot.

For instance, with one screenshot that I did the default 1 would give me a screen shot size of 982x923 and adjusting that up to 4 would give me 3928x3692.

The higher the resolution multiplier is set the longer the screenshot will take to render.

There isn’t really an ideal number for this. If you see that you’re not getting the resolution you want in the default, I would increase incrementally by 1 until you see the result you like.

hey Tim,

what is the answer of your second question against ergoproxy ? i mean what if ergoproxy did want setup a camera animation through the project that can be rendered out to a movie ? what would be the solution ?

I suppose it is not the simply set lighting to production quality and build the scene ? Can you guide me about this step by step ?

I want to render a scene to look more realistic, especially lights. I want them to look like much more high res. And what is the highest possible settings for best quality that engine supports ?
