Content browser: How to refresh?

Sorry, that’s a probably really dumb one, but I just can’t find an option to refresh the contents of a directory in the content browser / sync it with the file system? Currently, I have to restart the whole editor after each change manually.

Many thanks,

I’m also looking for this. Even in 4.10 I can’t seem to find a way to refresh. I saved a sound from VLC through a conversion from an ogg to an mp4. It won’t show up in the content browser, but I can see it in Windows Explorer.

Also, is my favorite childhood character. The Original games through the Legend of are my favorite.

Sorry to bump up such an old thread. But this is still an issue I think. I can not for the life of me figure out how to refresh the content browser. Is there an answer to this yet?

Is Reimport what you’re looking for? Right click e.g. a Texture and Reimport is in the list

No, I believe they are talking about when you change things like folder structure with for example file manager, that the content browser doesn’t reflect the changes. For example if you create some empty folders in your meshes folder, it won’t show/create them in the content browser. You have to create them in the content browser to be shown or if you have files in them.
There seem to be missing a way to force the content browser to check for changes in the folder structure, for change folders and/or files.

I’d like the refresh too, I often add stuff by using the win explorer.

Bump for 4.20 preview

It´s an issue until today (4.27)… I´m trying to refresh content browser, after copying some files via file manager, but I can´t solve how to do that… I´ve tried some commands like: unreal.AssetRegistry.scan_modified_asset_files() or scan_paths_synchronous() via blueprint and via python, but no results… Please EPIC, solve this issue! We need to see changes when we change our files outside Unreal!
