Attach Player To FBX animation

I’m pretty new to unreal, which is obvious – I can’t find the verbiage to search out a solution, essentially I have the default ‘player start’ and an imported fbx animation from max – a spaceship falling from orbit – I just want the player to be locked in the fuselage and I can’t seem to get the ‘attach actor’ in blueprint to work – The ship, parented to the animation, just keeps falling through the ‘player start’.
