Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Cannot name new levels in Unreal 4.8 Preview 3

In Unreal 4.8 Preview 3, when creating a new level in the Levels window, it is not possible to give those levels a name. The naming screen is skipped and the level is called "Untitled_*" and automatically placed in the "Temp Content" folder on saving.

This problem did not arise when using Unreal 4.7.6. I have attached diagrams to illustrate the problem. The test projects were blank Blueprint-only projects.

(Incidentally, it would also be very helpful if it were possible to rename levels from the Levels window once they have been created.)

Hey Zejji,

This is a known issue, which has been fixed internally under Jira UE-15765. We're hoping to have this integrated into 4.8. Please be aware that you are able to rename your levels through the Content Browser. All you need to do is locate where the level is saved within the Content Browser and right-click on it and select rename.

Thanks!
