Only when I actually click on it and am focused on it. Otherwise, if it’s open but not being used, it doesn’t make the buzz. Other 3D heavy apps do this as well. Everything has always worked fine until just now.
Volume has no effect.
Switching the sound card to headphone mode has no effect.
Muting UE4 in the sound mixer has no effect.
Installing new driver for the sound card has no effect.
Turns out it does indeed do it during other GPU-intensive programs. I may have to cash in on the warranty for the PSU if some tinkering doesn’t fix it.
It could be that the audio system isn’t shielded well enough from the electromagnetic interference being produced during heavy load.
do you have an alternative sound card/usb available to try?
If you have a separate sound card, it could even be due to a faulty motherboard.
The problem with power related issues is that they can manifest from almost any source between your plug socket and your headphones/speakers, but I believe a PSU would have a higher chance of being the culprit.
It does that to me too (even if at a low volume), it depends on the GPU intensive usage that create a little tension flikering.
It can happen even if the soundcard is shielded.
It’s not too worrysome, but if it’s very loud and is problematic to you, you can try to change the PSU (maybe a more powerful one).
