Brightness problem with meshes

Hi,

I’ve been using unreal engine 4 for about 4 days now and came across a problem with meshes being super bright. For some reason, i took all light sources out of my level and it still looked like there was light somewhere lighting up scene when i want complete black. game our team is making needs quite a bit of darkness and im not sure how to go about setting up level to be dark correctly, can anyone help with that? problem with meshes however, i found when i put model into scene and change an option called “Bounds Scale” to 2, lighting would be back to normal and im not sure why this is but i dont want to do this with every model i put into scene. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey ,

Have you built lighting? picture you provided mentions that lighting needs to be rebuilt. Does this happen with all meshes you import? Are you scaling meshes at all? Would you mind telling us specific steps you take when you import meshes with this issue? Thanks!

Hey ,

Thanks for reply. I did re-build lighting but no change and yes it’s with all meshes, some scaled, some just how they were imported. I just do usual import FBX, import textures and make material and apply it. I think i found a fix to issue though inside post processing i changed auto exposure and max and min brightness and it seems to be back to normal now so for anyone in future having same issue with brightness, take a look in post processing settings and adjust exposure to liking.
