Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Spring arm is not springing

Spring arms have stopped working. Completely. They have stopped reacting to the environmentalt text

I don't know how it happened and I cannot find a way to fix it.

This is kind of urgent.

Thanks in advanced

Hi Halosos,

Have you checked to make sure the Do Collision Test setting for the Spring Arm hasn't been disabled? Did you make any change to the Probe Size? Is the collision on your environment pieces set to ignore or overlap the collision channel your Spring Arm tests against?

If you'd like, I can take a look at the project and see if I can locate the source of the problem. You can upload it somewhere like Dropbox or Google Drive and get me a download link, either here or privately on the forums:

Hi Halosos,

Thanks for sending me the project to look over! As I suspected, you have Do Collision Test disabled on the Spring Arm in the MyCharacter Blueprint. Do Collision Test is what forces the Spring Arm to push forward when anything collides with it. Simply enabling this setting fixes the problem as far as I can tell:

If I missed another problem with the Spring Arm component in the project, please let me know. Hope this helped!
