Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Tutorial Text

Hey guys! This is, probably, a noob question, but I couldn't seem to find an answer after searching through the Questions forum. (If I missed it, please show me where this is explained!)

I'm creating a game, and I want the first level to display a few messages, one first explaining how to move, then how to attack. (It's a turn based strategy.)

How exactly would I go about having these messages appear?

Thanks for anything!

You could use UMG for this... Make a widget that appears at the start of the level and then have it go bye bye once the actual game starts. I was watching a youtube tutorial that had something like what you wanted, but I can't remember what its called...... Also, I'm somewhat a noob myself, so there may be others ways of doing what you would like......

Here's the link to the DOCS on UMG. https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/UMG/
