Gear VR framerate capped at 60fps?

In my attempt to get our Gear VR game to run at a comfortable 75fps, I get stuck at 60fps, on my Note4.

I’ve stripped the game down to a bare minimum. And for what it’s worth; in Engine - General Settings, I’ve unchecked the “Smooth Frame Rate” option and have set the range value to 200 and the Min Desired Frame Rate to 80.
Even an almost empty map, with nothing in it, runs at 60fps.

I want to give players a comfortable VR experience and right now I’m unable to do so. The bar for comfortable VR lies at 75, not 60.

Seeing the performance stats on this unreal wiki page shows no framerates on mobile listed above 60, not even for Tappy Chicken.

Is there a way beyond 60 frames per second? Or is this a hardware limitation? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it’s a hardware limitation. The screen of the Note 4 has a 60Hz refresh rate. “RTFM !” Case closed.
