Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Can't launch project after adding marketplace guns.

My issue is that I bought the "Weapon Pack: Assault Rifles" and added it to my project and upon launching my project.. I get this pop up error, "Missing Modules" "The following modules are missing or built with a different engine version: UE4Editor-SubstanceCore.dll UE4Editor-SubstanceEditor.dll Would you like to rebuild them now?" "Yes No". Upon clicking no, it just closes the popup and doesn't launch the game, but upon clicking yes, it shows a progress bar and attempts to compile them... but it can't and gives a popup message of "Error" " could not be compiled. Try rebuilding from source manually." "ok" After this, it then closes the application as if you clicked no.

I checked for those two files and they exist inside the project file, so I guess they were built for another version? Yet I downloaded it for 4.7 and added it to my 4.7 project file...

So I spent the past 2+ hours downloading and setting up everything to compile UE4 from source coding, converted the project to launch from the source code UE4 to get the same error and I'm at a loss.

Lesson learned: Copy the project prior to adding things.

Hi! Not sure what could be causing this issue. Just for kicks, try reinstalling the plugin by downloading from the Allegorithmic site and following the How to get it working steps to install it.

Let me know if that helps.

Hello! Thank you for pointing out this issue. We'll look into ways of preventing this in the future, but for now I have a work-around for you. When opening a pack that has been created using a previous version you will come across the popup asking about conversion (see attached). You'll either receive "Screen 2" or "Screen 1" and then "Screen 2". Select "More Options" and then "Skip conversion". If the pack was correctly marked for the version you are using, it should work. Let me know if it doesn't and we can work together to figure this out.

Hope this helps!

I don't get either of those two windows you showed, these are what I get. The first window is version 4.7's error and the second is 4.8's error when launching the project with each version of Unreal Engine 4. In the first window I will click Yes, and get the window below it afterwards, if I click cancel it stops launching the project. I hope a solution can be found. I appreciate the assistance greatly.

Have you downloaded and installed the substance plugin from the marketplace? This pack requires that plugin to be installed. If you have already installed it please check to see if it has an update pending.

Yes I have downloaded and installed the substance plugin prior to this issue and it doesn't make sense to me why this is an issue. The plugin seems to only work with 4.8 and the bottom error is what shows when launching with that version.

Edit: I've tried launching 4.8.0 without a project and selecting the 4.7 version and attempting to skip conversion and also convert a copy, either way I end up with the error in that second picture that the plugin "Substance" failed to load etc etc etc. I'm stumped with this :/

Did you have the substance plug in installed and enabled while trying to open the project in 4.8 and skipping conversion?

Yes it's installed in 4.8 and gives that error when trying to skip conversion.

Did you download the plugin via the marketplace or from the Allegorithmic site?

Did you try compile manually in Visual Studio or XCode?
