Hi Epic team and Carvalho! I glad, that I no one, who have this bug! I sure, that Epic team fix this bug very fast and soon as possible! Thanks for your answer!

Hey CrayzorSoftware,

Where did you obtain UE4 version 4.8 from? Did you upgrade from the preview? Are you using the GitHub version of the editor? I’m currently working out of 4.8.0 from the Epic Games Launcher and I have not been able to replicate the screenshots provided.

Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks.

Hi ,

I have performed a clean install of UE4 version 4.8.0-2579680+++depot+UE4-Releases+4.8 from the Epic Games Launcher (EpicGamesLauncherInstaller-2.2.0-2568893.msi).

In addition, it has been installed on a laptop with Intel Core i7-4700MQ 2.40GHz CPU and 2 GPUs, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M and an on-board Intel HD Graphics 4600.

The screenshots provided by crayzorSoftware replicates exactly the issues that I’m facing on my UE4 installation.

Regards

A similar bug also occurs on Window menu. See screenshot:

Hey,

Are you both on laptops and on Windows 8 or 8.1? Could you both send me your dxdiag so we can investigate this further? I am not able to reproduce this on my machine, with Windows 7 and using a desktop.

Looking forward to hearing from you both.

Hello,

My laptop’s OS is Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit. I have attached the [DxDiag][1].

In addition, I just found out that the issue doesn’t occurs if I force the UE4Editor to use my laptop integrated graphics card (Intel). It only occurs if the dedicated graphics card (NVIDIA) is used rather. However, this workaround is not acceptable as a solutions since the power of the dedicated graphics card is required to run the UE4Editor satisfactorily.

Regarding this new finding, I guess this issue might be related to NVIDIA [Optimus technology][2], which is in common use on laptops. I hope that the Epic team fixes it soon.

Regards

Hey ,

I have spoken with the developers regarding UE-17196, which I entered earlier for the issue you were experiencing. We have not been able to reproduce this in house. I’m curious to see if the same outcome happens for CrayzorSoftware or not.

Have you been able to since get the menus to stop duplicating on your Nvidia graphics card, ? Did you update the drivers on your Nvidia graphics card?

Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks!

Hi Carvalho and ! I have this is problem on my laptop and I have N’Vidia Optimus technology too! I already tested Unreal Engine 4 on Intel HD 3000 graphics card and I not have this problem, but on N’Vidia card this bug is return! This is my DxDiag log file:

Hi ,

My NVIDIA card driver is up to date (version 353.06). So far no changes as long as the driver was already up to date all the time.

Note: As far as I noticed, only submenus are double rendered and it happens when the mouse pointer hover over the parent menu item that pops up the submenu itself. Therefore, make sure you hover the mouse pointer over every “composed” menu item of the parent menu in order to reproduce the issue.

Regards

Hey ,

I have tested the Editor out on Windows 8.1 and I was not able to verify the context menu duplicating or ghosting. Ghosting would happen typically on computers with low refresh rate monitors. However, since you’re on a laptop, I doubt that’s the issue.

Either way, I have not been able to reproduce this at all, neither has anyone on my team. The developers have also been unable to reproduce this issue with the editor.

At this time, UE-17196 has been marked as cannot reproduce. If you’re able to conclude a way that could cause this to happen each time and anyone here at Epic can reproduce it as well, I’d be more than happy to pass that information along.

Have a great day!

Hi Carvalho and and from Epic team too! I hope, that your team fixing this bug soon as possible! Thanks for answer!

Having the same issue. Very annoying… I’m using a laptop Windows 7 64. bit. It occured first when I updated to ue 4.8

Hi Epic team! I try used Unreal Engine 4 on my laptop with external monitor! I connect this monitor used VGA output port and this bug not show again! I think, that this bug show only them uses N’Vidia Optimus technology and picture out process used Intel HD 3000 graphics! Please fix this bug, but it very terrible and not giving working around my projects nice! Thank for answer!

Could you please try running the editor with ‘-opengl’ in the target line? Please make sure that you’re using your normal monitor so that the issue will still appear.

Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks!

Hi ! Please tell Me about how I can do this, what is it target line and, what I want run for this! Thanks for answer!

Right-click on the Epic Games Launcher and within the ‘Target:’ line add -opengl to the end of the information that’s already listed so for example: “D:\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64\EpicGamesLauncher.exe” -opengl

Thank you!

Hi and Epic team! I try your method and it is work fine, right now Unreal Editor work without this bug, but I have less performance of engine and not supported shader model 5! I hope, that Epic fix this problem in next release! Thanks for answer!
