Material alignment under Geometry isn't functioning.

This seems to be a bug reported by a few people so far, but I just want to bring light to this so it gets fixed asap. Material alignment isn’t working. Doesn’t produce any results and isn’t even present as an undoable action.

Thank you for your report. I was able to duplicate the issue and have entered a report as UE-17038. I will keep you informed as we investigate a solution.

Just giving an update on the situation. Decided to test out if things were fixed in the 4.8.1 hotfix. Same issue is still occurring. Didn’t expect it to be fixed immediately, per se. Wanted to give it a go in any case.
