As soon as I get into the Editor mode and view a screen the GPU Diode starts to get hot and the fans turn on - very high fan rate. I do not think this is normal… is it?

This is a normal and expected outcome when running the editor on a Mac and most laptops rather. Although your computer has a decent integrated graphics card, the workload required to run a game engine is not an inexpensive process and will require a good amount of computer power to run smoothly.
There are a few things you can edit in order to reduce the workload on your computer. The first and most impactful will be your ‘Engine Scalability’ settings. Here you can edit the overall rendering quality for different features within the engine.

Try using low to medium quality to improve your laptops performance.

hey there… thanks for the quick reply… I do get your response and will try the fix yet 5500 revs per fan whilst using the editor even in wireframe is a bit expensive on the hardware…
