Is it possible to change root bone in root motion?

Hi,
I’ve animation of a character which is moving during animation. I would like to suppress the movement.
But the root bone is not moving… so “root motion” enabling don’t change anything;
So, i would like to use pelvis as reference bone for root motion, is-it possible ?

To the best of my knowledge this isn’t possible. However you could just animate the root bone along with the character’s hips. So with whatever 3D app you’re using you want to constrain the rig’s root bone to your hips. Then whenever you move the hips it will move the root bone.

Also if you really need to animate and switch the root, you could have your character with the skeleton root at the hips, and then attach that to another simple skeleton that has the root at the feet. Then you could attach the hips-root to the feet-root and animate them separately. That’s a lot of work though. And you’d probably need two animation trees for each ‘character’.
