Ran into this error today, searched here, found some suggestions but none helped. Found a workaround that helped in my case and thought I’d share.
I mass deleted groups of items, tried again, deleted more, tried again, eventually the lighting build worked. Closed the editor without saving, reopened, and it worked fine.
