Im getting this error from the crash log:
“LogLinker:Warning: CreateImport: Failed to load Outer for resource ‘WidgetTree’: WidgetBlueprint /Script/UMGEditor.Default__WidgetBlueprint”
What does this mean?
I’ve been working on a menu UI, everything works fine in PIE.
Is there some common mistake that causes this?

and to clarify, that is from the log after running the packaged game .exe
same problem. seems, its bad UE4Game.exe at \WindowsNoEditor\Engine\Binaries\Win64\
i replaced it with previous version of 4.8 UE4Game.exe and it works.
Seeing this same problem with a game packaged for iOS, created on 4.8.2

This issue actually resolved itself somehow for me. I never found out what exactly it was.
I had the same issue - it is bug hard to trace
