Can Someone please recommend a very cheap laptop that will run UE perfectly?

One of my friends is looking at UE, and wants to get a laptop to support it. His limit is about $500. I know there’s not much out there that will support UE perfectly for that price… But that’s what he said… At least quad core?

Laptops are not really the best when working with UE, and definitely not under 500$. Check the minimum system requirements for UE4, you need at least a Quad-Core processor (most Laptops only have a Dual-Core), 8 GB of RAM (cheap Laptops sometimes have less) and a good graphics card. Most Laptops have something like a Intel HD Graphics, and thats not gonna run UE4 on the best settings. Look at some regular PC´s, and you probably will need to increase your budget a bit if you want 60FPS on High Settings.

I would look into the AMD Quantum you can find details here It is a very powerful PC in a very small form factor. It has two AMD Fury X GPUs inside. It might be a while until they release it. I could be wrong however.

I would personally recommend a desktop PC due to the ability to upgrade it over time.

You can get quite a bit with a 500 dollars. Is this USD or another currency?

Please let me know and I will help you build a PC by telling you what parts to choose…

As a matter of fact, I found one that I will get, for just under $1000 - So ya… laptops are okay for that.

It has quad core Intel, 8 GB of RAM, and a NVidia Geforce 960M, which beats the requirements. I asked my question just to make sure.

Thank you for replying. We aren’t looking to build a computer, it’s just not our thing. Also, we would need it to be laptop, for more flexibility. And yes… it is USD. Is there a PC that has that already built in?

try finding on the Lenovo’s site, also, you could look for this specific model on sites of local retailers of your region. This laptop is very cheap and works with a GeForce gt635m, but there are better lenovo laptops now, try to look on a lenovo Y series too, they have a more powerfull graphic card

All the info you need is right here:

It really depends on what kind of projects you want to make.

If you want to make a simple 2D game you’ll need less power than trying to run the Kite Demo in 60 FPS.
