Why do I need to re-cook textures after moving my project?

I let my computer compress textures overnight at home, which took many many hours at the highest settings. Thankfully after this, any updates I want to deploy to my iPad take less than 2 minutes. Perfect.

But when I copy my project directory over to my work computer, I need to re-compress every single texture again. My app is only 400 MB and the project is almost 4 GB, so there is obviously all the cooked content it could ever want.

This is a huge hassle and you can imagine how it would get in the way of development. I’ve experienced this in 4.7 and 4.8 if it matters.
