Why does my UE still show as 4.6?

I’m confused. I see 4.8 is the latest version but I had upgraded and my UE Launcher Window still only shows that I have 4.6.

Did I miss something or do something wrong?

1 run UnrealVersionSelector.exe in directory \Engine\Binaries\Win64

2 right click mouse button on yourGame.uproject file:

(1). “switch unreal engine version” to the new version.
(2). If you are windows programmer, you’d better to execute the “Generate the visual studio project” cmd.

Hmm strange, Apparently I can’t upgrade to 4.8. I only see 4.6 in my Engines Listing. I wonder if the download option isn’t in my area yet but that doesn’t make any sense since I could clearly see 4.8 released as the latest engine version.

Hi Deygus,

How are you trying to install 4.8? Are you following these steps?

If it still doesn’t install, can you post a screenshot of exactly what you are seeing?

Ah ha! Found it! Just had to look around for awhile longer. I found it under the Library Engine Versions! I then clicked “Add Version” and 4.8 appeared and is now downloading to then install.

I believe I should be good to go now. Thanks!

I just figured it out, I’m relatively new to UE as of the last few months so I’ve been trying to learn it better.

I found it under the Library “Add Version” so it’s now downloading for use and I think I should be good to go now! Thanks!

PS - I have no idea how to close this thread, sorry.

I’m sorry , I’ve misinterpreted what your mean. Yes, the launcher need some time to synchronize data from the server.
