Is there a way to automatically import updated assets?

So obviously, I’m going to doing most of my asset creation in something other than Unreal. Once I import an incomplete asset (a model with textures, for example), is there a way for Unreal to automatically replace the current asset with the changes from the new one? I’ll be exporting as an obj… it’d be nice if Unreal would link to that same obj file and re-import it to the same asset so that the asset has the latest geometry.

Is that already the way it works?

How do I need to setup my pipeline so that these kinds of changes are easier, rather than more difficult?

Yup… just right-click the asset and hit “Reimport.”

This thread might help. I’m looking into the same thing.

" Automatic Asset Importing "

This was added in 4.7, but I’m having issues with getting it to work atm.

Hopefully this helps.
