How do we deal with posting code excerpts, and where to?

We ran into an issue on the IRC regarding posting code excerpts, and other private items, from the Engine into the public channel.

How do we handle/resolve this (officially, not through common-sense, because everyone’s common sense differs)?

The same really goes with the Public Wiki and any other outlet that everyone in the public has access to and not just the subscribers.

My suggestion is that Epic sets up a secure pastebin, which would be available to all subscribers (based on their forum login or other login elsewhere) so posting links even in public would ensure only subscribers can see the contents.

Good question! After internal discussion, we’ll permit public discussion of code snippets (up to 30 lines in length) of engine code for the purpose of discussing the content of the snippet (but not for the purpose of distributing the code).
