Enabling PostProcessing for SimpleHMD?

I am trying to setup a bare-bones HMD development environment for no specific headset using the SimpleHMD plugin. I have enabled the plugin, rebooted the editor, and set the play mode to VR. I now get the preview window displaying with two views, but no barrel distortion is applied. Do I need to add a custom image effect to the PostProcessVolume for this?

Is it possible that I’m still not USING SimpleHMD despite having enabled the plugin, and can I verify if it’s being used?
