Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

ghost collision left behind after deleting BSP

I added a BSP Sphere from the Modes panel, realised it was too blocky for my needs and instantly deleted it. then later when I was testing and typed show collision in console, the collision frame for that previously deleted bsp is still there, and won't go away even after closing/re-opening the engine.

It doesn't collide with anything and as far as I can tell, this is the only way you can see it, but it's still a bug, right? :)

Do you have "Update BSP Automatically" on or off?

Hi Adam!

It is on, which I presume is the default.

I have never touched that option.

I haven't been able to reproduce this on my end. Can you walk me through the exact steps you are taking that reproduce this on your end?

I followed the new 3rd person tutorial posted a few days ago, up to the point that he added a sphere to test the punch collision.

I searched the Modes panel for Sphere, and accidentally grabbed the BSP Sphere, saw how blocky it was and hit the delete key, it disappeared.

Then I carried on with the correct Sphere, when it came time to test the collision, whilst in play mode, I opened the console & typed show collision, that's when I saw it.

I then closed the editor completely and re-opened the project from the Launcher to see that it was still there.

I'll upload the project somewhere. brb

I just reloaded the project and the ghost collider was no longer there, so I repeated the steps mentioned in my previous reply and was able to reproduce.

  1. Drag BSP Sphere to scene, then delete it.

  2. (Optional) Build, Close/Reopen Editor

  3. show collision in Play mode.

It might be worth mentioning that I have the Substance plugin installed.

I was able to reproduce this on my end and have entered a bug report, UE-17982 to be assessed by the development staff.
