A blank window shows after opening an actor blueprint

Hello,
recently I’ve encountered a bug I suppose. When i try to open a blueprint of something inheriting from AActor like on this screenshot :

I got blank screen instead of editor :

There’s one exception form this: when I create new Actor blueprint I got a proper editor screen like this :

Is there any solution to this already?

Regards

Hey ,

Is this happening with only one project or all of your projects? If it’s only happening with one of your projects, was that project moved from an older version of the engine? Are you able to move that blueprint over to a newer project that isn’t having this issue and actually open it, or does it react the same way?

Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks!

Hello,

I’ve encountered this problem only in this project (but this is honestly the first bigger project I work on), it was created under 4.8, so there is no newer projects I can move blueprint to. What’s interesting, there are actor blueprint that I can open after reloading editor (the newly created actor blueprint is ok only till editor reload) and edit, there are the screens of it after blueprint editor opened :

Hey,

Have you tried closing your project down, going into the project files and deleting the: Intermediate, Config and Saved files? Once you’ve done that, could you please open your project back up and see if it’s reacting the same way or not.

If your project is reacting the same way, could you please zip your whole project folder up and provide it to me in a private message on the forums?

Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks!

So when I opened up your project, I double clicked on the ‘thug’ blueprint. The window that appeared asked whether or not I wanted to open up the blueprint editor for this asset. I clicked to open the blueprint editor and never experienced a completely blank screen. My suggestion for you points back to my last comment simply delete your: Intermediate, Config and Saved folders from this project file.

Please let me know whether or not this works out for you. I would also suggest downloading the project you provided me in the private message and seeing if you still get the same blank screen issue or not.

Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks!

So I had to make a clean Windows installation because of the fact that Unreal Editor was causing constant bluescreens for me and after I opened the blueprint on the fresh OS and editor everything was fine. So I guess it was something more complicated than just only editor bug and I suppose problem is solved for me.

Thanks for time and effort you put into helping me!

Regards

Thank you so much! You just put an end to my frustration! Worked like a charm!
