Screen tearing in stand alone build

i’m having a strange issue where a VR preview runs great at 75 fps, however when i package the project and run the game, juddering occurs. even messing with scalability settings at runtime didn’t help. with everything at highest settings, in preview mode, the game runs fine. but when i run the game at any settings level in the packaged game, juddering occurs. any ideas what might be causing this or how i could trouble shoot this?

additional info: found this isn’t only a VR issue. framerate is great, but it’s an issue outside of VR as well. tried all kinds of combos with vsync on/off but screen tearing persists in stand alone mode. this is only with one level in the project, so i’m trying to pinpoint what’s causing the issue. now that i’ve found this isn’t just a VR issue, this may be a dupe bug and might be closable in favor of an existing known issue… will research further…
