Cannot add "Weapon Pack: Assault Rifles" to new 4.8.1 project

Hello!

I’ve purchased the Weapon Pack: Assault Rifles and wanted to test it out in a brand new, 4.8.1 project. Unfortunately, I cannot even launch the project once the rifles have been added. Here are my steps:

  1. Get 4.8.1 in the launcher.
  2. Go to the Marketplace and get new Substance plugin for 4.8
  3. Start up UE4 4.8.1 and create a new, Blueprint only blank project, with no starter content.
  4. Once the new project launches, go to the Plugins window to make sure the Substance plugin is enabled (it is).
  5. Close the project
  6. In the Launcher, add the Weapon Pack: Assault Rifles to the new project. This works fine.
  7. Start up the project by double clicking it in the Launcher
  8. Receive the following dialog: “Plugin ‘Substance’ failed to load because module ‘SubstanceCore’ does not appear to be compatible with the current version of the engine. The plugin may need to be recompiled.”
  9. At this point, I only have the OK button to click, which shuts down the project. It is impossible to now load the project.

Here is the dialog:

At this point I can neither try out the Marketplace content I purchased, nor can I load my new project. I’m locked out of it. How can I load the Assault Rifles into UE4 4.8.1?

Thanks!

It has been 8 days since I reported this.

Are the Assault Rifles just not compatible with 4.8.1, or is it the Substance plug-in? Either way, this has prevented me from using content I purchased, and also locked my project and prevented me from loading it.

Quite a serious issue!

Hi! Not sure what could be causing this issue. Just for kicks, try reinstalling the plugin by downloading from the Allegorithmic site and following the How to get it working steps to install it.

Let me know if that helps.
