How do you get Sound and Events to occur during a Matinee recording?

I’m using Matinee “Create a Movie” button to get a recording of my gameplay in UE4.

I first create a new director group.

I then go to Create a Movie button and choose AVI, my resolution and fps, and make sure everything else is unchecked.

It then loads a window where I can play and be recorded. I can move and look around, but my pickup event (I walk over a weapon and pick it up) does not fire, and there is no sound playing and recording. It does save a recording when I close the window, but again, my events, such as the pickup event isn’t occuring, and there is no sound.

Any advice would be very helpful, thanks!

: UPDATE :

I tried using the new 4.8.1 to see if that would solve any/all issues. Events work now, but sound is still missing.
UI also isn’t appearing in the movie file.

If you have an nVidia graphics card, you might find it easier recording using the ShadowPlay functionality in GeForce Experience. With ShadowPlay, the video compression is accelerated using the video card, so you can play at full speed and you get a reasonable size video at the end of it. When I was recording using Matinee I got bad frame rates which made the game difficult to play (the bad guys killed me even though I created them  ). Then I ran out of disk space because Matinee was writing uncompressed video frames.

(This isn’t a complaint about Matinee—it has different constraints to ShadowPlay, so these problems may well be hard to avoid.)

I’ll try it, thanks. I’m having trouble figuring out how to have ShadowPlay save the gameplay from my UE4 project though
