Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Normal map black spots

alt textHi, I have some serious problem with my normal maps. Even if I turn them softer or harder, they generate black area on my meshes

Here you can find a screen of my rock with a normal map.

I have a directional light plus a sky light with an hdr, no GI.

How can I solve this? Why is this happening?

Thank you very much!

Hello ginwakeup,

Within your project settings under the render tab > lighting there is an option to Use Normal Maps for Static Lighting. There is a check box to enable/disable this feature.

Try this first.

If that doesn't work try adding bounces and that lights quality. This is found in the details panel of your light. This combined with tweaking the quality of your light maps will help with the quality of your shadows themselves.

I suspect it is the normal maps for static lighting option.

Rebuild your scene after you turn this feature off.

Try these options and let me know if they work.

Thanks, Logan
