Bug: Trees Spawned With The Procedural Foliage Spawner Are Unlit

,

To demonstrate the issue, here are two screenshots:

There are no lights in the scene. On the right-hand side is foliage spawned by the procedural spawner (showing as a foliage type in the foliage tool). On the left-hand side is that same tree, added as a static mesh in the foliage tool and painted by hand. As you can see in the unlit vs. lit screenshots, the former does not much care for lighting at all. This also holds true if I now take that foliage type and paint it by hand. Here are my foliage type instance settings:

Also probably important, this does not happen every time I resimulate.

Edit: As a matter of fact, now it seems to be working… I am not sure what I did, I just resaved the foliage type when taking the last screenshot above and regenerated with a different foliage type to see if it happens with all types.

Hey . I fiddles around with the foliage types, crrated new ones, resimulated etc. until it fell into place. I can’t seem to reproduce it any longer.

Hi ,

So this is no working for you are you expect it to?

Hi ,

I’m happy to hear this is no longer occurring for you. I will mark this as answered for tracking purposes. If this occurs again, please feel free to comment with reproduction steps and I’ll be happy to take another look.
